Responsibilities will include performance of day-to-day animal husbandry tasks i.e. diet preparation and feeding; cleaning (laundry, dishes, cleaning cages and outside enclosures); medical care (examinations and diagnosis, fluids and medications, bandaging); animal handling. Supervision of volunteers and seasonal staff. Recordkeeping. Administration duties, including telephone contact with the public. Some Building Maintenance duties. Training provided.
Qualifications: Dependable and punctual. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to follow through on instructions, learn new skills and take initiative. Ability to supervise; instruct and monitor performance of volunteers and seasonal staff. Good organizational and time-management skills. Good problem-solving skills. Comfortable around other people. Reliable transportation required. Current tetanus vaccination required. Must have a pre-exposure rabies vaccination. Volunteer experience with EWR an asset.
Hours per Week: 10 – 22 hours per week depending on season; available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Wages: $14.25 to start
